Villa Umah Luung Description
Staying here is your chance of experiencing the real Bali aesthetic from the inside and at the same time enjoying the tranquility of nature and the local countryside, while your friendly staff will be right there to cater to your every need. And with Ubud - Bali's cultural center - just 15 minutes away, you will be conveniently close to shops, restaurants and galleries.Do you want to hide? This is the answer. Umah Lu'ung or Umah Luwung is Balinese word to express 'good home'. In fact it is a beloved holiday home of four ladies: Laksmi, Ita, Brigitta and Fida. They have spent many happy days there with their families and friends since they villa finished its construction some years ago.
Umah Lu'ung is located in Banjar Bayad, Desa Melinggih Klod, Kecamatan Payangan, Kabupaten Gianyar, Bali . What a long address and it is without a number. It is about 10 to 15 minutes by car from down town Ubud and near the most expensive boutique hotel in Bali, Como Shambala Estate at Begawan Giri (BG). We jokingly say that Umah Lu'ung is an annex of Begawan Giri, but with a nicer view (map attached).
The villa is totally hidden on quiet part of Bali, can only be reached through small village road surrounded by ricefield terraces. There you can feel real Bali experience: girls with offering, ducks swimming on the river or farmers working on the field. A very close feeling to the nature. Far in the east on the top of the hill, beautiful rice terraces are great view from the all parts of the villa.
Villa Umah Lu'ung Accommodation
There are two entrance: through the Balinese 'angkul-angkul' gate or through door at the garage. If we enter the villa through the angkul-angkul, we will be guided to the wide open style living area on the highest part of the property. There are some sofas placed on this wooden floor with stunning view to the valley and rice field terraces on the sunrise side. In a clear day you can see Mt Agung as well. From this part we have to go through stairs down to the living & dining area. If we go through the door at the garage, we will be guided to the living and dining area. A large dining table overlooking to view in the east are placed between fully equipped kitchen on the right and the living room on the left.Villa Umah Lu'ung has four nice bedrooms with private en-suite bathroom. Each bedroom is located on a self contained structure and features DBL bed, mosquito net, wooden floor, and satellite TV. Master Bedroom is located on the right side with great view to the valley, second bedroom is located on the left next to the living area. This second bedroom is attached with the private library studio. The third and fourth bedrooms are mirrored bedrooms. They are very similar structures have two stairs: upper is bedroom, while downstairs is the additional room with additional bed.
The dining area is a large open style area with terra-cotta floor. It is equipped with large dining table with 10 seats. It is supported by a modern kitchen equipped with: gaz stove, microwave, complete glass-ware, cooking utensils, etc. This kitchen is operated by an experienced cook who can give you a good memory about Bali.
The swimming pool is located on the lowest part of the property, covered by some big trees: nyantuh tree, coconut palm trees, durian, and many other smaller trees. You are in the jungle! These giant trees will make your days so cool although the temperature is always cool.
Reviewing the quiet location, in Umah Lu'ung you can do yoga, meditation, painting, writing your own book, enjoy the music and many more. To get more impression about real Bali, please do the trekking, or biking through the village or even rafting operated by experienced rafting operator on the Ayung river nearby.
